Museo Naturalistico Natural History Museum
This was opened in June 2004 by the management of the Sasso Simone e Simoncello National Park in collaboration with the Municipality of Pennabilli. It is housed in the former municipal abattoir, now restructured, and has a permanent exhibition of autochthonous flora and fauna. There are numerous dioramas illustrating the most representative local animal and vegetable species. The animals are stuffed and exhibited in a setting which reconstructs their natural habitat. There is a particularly fine specimen of Apennine wolf, a rare find from within the park. There is also a multi-function room ideal for seminars, lectures, video lectures and teaching workshops.
