RiBo104 – A Home of Art
In Mondaino, amongst narrow streets that tell tales of centuries of history, there is a door that does more than simply open: it invites you to step into a world where art has made its home.
It is called RiBo104, and it is much more than a home: it is a living space, in constant dialogue, where domestic spaces and contemporary visions meet without filters.
Here, art is not observed from a distance, but experienced first-hand. The rooms – seven of them, all different – house paintings, sculptures and installations that change over time, following their own paths, often intertwined with social issues and the present day.
It is a home, yes, but one inhabited by ideas, experimentation and encounters.
What makes the experience even more astonishing is what lies beneath street level: an ancient cave, dating from between the 14th and 17th centuries, now reopened to the public in an unexpected form.
Here, ethnographic heritage coexists with conceptual art, in a space transformed by a walkable glass floor and lighting that highlights every detail. The result is a suspended, almost theatrical atmosphere that leaves room for wonder.
RiBo104 was born out of its founders’ passion and welcomes visitors with a simple, generous spirit: entry is free, because art – here – is, first and foremost, about sharing.
Those who enter are not merely spectators, but part of a narrative that takes shape amongst the artworks, the galleries, the small garden and the conversations that arise spontaneously.
Visiting RiBo104 also means rediscovering Mondaino from a different perspective: that of a village which does not merely preserve the past, but embraces new energy and transforms it into a vision.
