Tuff Caves of Jovis Hill

On the eastern part of Jovis hill, on which Santarcangelo stands, there are about 160 caves of a mysterious origin which make up a real underground town, on three levels.

There is still discussion about the various uses of these artificial underground cavities, dug into the sandstone and clay: It is assumed that most of them were built as cellars or warehouses, but for some, given the elaborate structure, a cultural purpose should not be excluded as a possible use. Do not miss a visit to the monumental public cave.

The visit lasts 30/40 minutes; there are reductions based on age. Access is allowed to small groups at a time (maximum 8/10 people).

Reservation required.

Comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for a temperature of 13/14 degrees are recommended.
