Pellegrini alla Verna - Lungo la Via Romea Germanica nell'anno del Giubileo

Via Romea Germanica

A plunge into nature on the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis

Discovering the uses, tastes and properties of wild herbs, a precious resource for pilgrims of all ages.

The spontaneous products of nature have always been an important aid and relief for pilgrims and humanity in general.
On the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis, the Saint of the Canticle of the Creatures, we will immerse ourselves in nature along the stretch of the Via Romea Germanica that climbs from Bagno di Romagna towards the Apennine ridge to the Franciscan convent of La Verna.
In the company of experts, we will walk from the hamlet of Gualchiere, just beyond the town of Bagno di Romagna, to gather and recognise herbs, and for a reading of the Canticle of the Creatures.
On the return to San Piero in Bagno (with a visit to the historic church of San Francesco), a tasting will be prepared with the herbs collected, and the teaching and stories will continue.

Events may be subject to change, always contact organizers before going to the venue.
