Cattolica celebrates Ducati’s 100th anniversary with a major exhibition
To mark World Ducati Week (WDW) 2026, Cattolica is decked out in red to pay tribute to the centenary of the Borgo Panigale-based motorbike manufacturer with a packed programme of events, installations and an exhibition dedicated to the history of road racing.
In the year of this historic anniversary, “Ducati 100: 1926–2026 – A Century Made of Seconds”, MOAB, together with Cattolica Town Council, in collaboration with Ducati and with the support of Visit Romagna, presents the exhibition “100 Years of Ducati: from the Mototemporada to Superbike”, a journey through a century of passion, innovation and sporting success.
The exhibition “100 Years of Ducati: from the Mototemporada to Superbike”
Housed in the picturesque setting of the Palazzo del Turismo in Cattolica, the exhibition will be open to the public from 3 July to 27 September 2026.
The exhibition recounts one of the most fascinating chapters in Italian motorcycling history, retracing the golden age of street racing which, between 1945 and 1971, transformed the roads of the Romagna Riviera into spectacular open-air circuits.
From Cattolica to Riccione, via Rimini, Cesenatico, Cervia and Milano Marittima, the famous Mototemporada became an unmissable event for riders, manufacturers and enthusiasts from all over Europe, serving as a true preview of the World Motorcycle Championship.
Ducati and the Mototemporada: a story that began in Romagna
The roots of the bond between Ducati and Romagna lie in the immediate post-war period. Indeed, it was the motorcycling clubs of Cattolica and Morciano that organised the first competitions dedicated to small-engined motorcycles, featuring the legendary Cucciolo – the motorcycle that marked the beginning of the brand’s sporting history.
In Cattolica, the races started in front of the historic Hotel Kursaal, a symbol of a season that contributed to the economic and tourist revival of the Riviera.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through this extraordinary technical and sporting evolution, right up to Ducati’s great international successes: from the inception of the World Superbike Championship, launched at Misano in 1991 and the scene of no fewer than 40 victories for the Bologna-based manufacturer, right through to its triumphs in MotoGP, which began with Casey Stoner’s historic victory on his debut in 2007.
An unmissable event for Ducati enthusiasts
With the exhibition dedicated to Ducati’s 100th anniversary and the programme of events for World Ducati Week 2026, Cattolica reaffirms its role as one of the key players in the grand celebration of the ‘Rossa di Borgo Panigale’.
A unique opportunity to relive the history of motorcycling in Romagna, discover the origins of the Mototemporada and celebrate a century of innovation, competition and passion that have made Ducati one of the world’s most iconic brands.
