Riccione’s Birthday celebrates 104 years of municipal autonomy through a cultural and participatory project which, from 16 to 19 October, brings the whole town to life by linking historical memory with the energy of the younger generations.

Kicking off and running throughout the weekend of celebrations is CiocoPaese, the famous event dedicated to artisan chocolate, organised by the Riccione Paese Committee in collaboration with the Town Council, taking place from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October.

Saturday 17 October gets into full swing with music in Piazza Unità. From 4.00 pm, the third edition of “Sogna Riccione Sogna” kicks off with a concert by young, up-and-coming singer-songwriters from the area: Davitralenuvole, the band Le Storie Di Lisa, Pietro Motta and the Riccione-born singer Michelle (born Michelle Lufo), known to the general public for her splendid run on X Factor.

At the end of the afternoon concert, students from the Savioli Hotel Management School will hand out to the public a special single-portion celebratory dessert created especially to mark Riccione’s anniversary.

At 9.00 pm, the festivities continue with the energy of Joe Dibrutto and their repertoire of 1970s disco music, preceded at 8.00 pm by a performance from the band Different Soul.

On Sunday 18 October, from 3.30 pm, Piazza Unità will host the second musical instalment of “Sogna Riccione Sogna”, featuring performances by young students from Musicantiere, Giocamusica and the Gaspare Tirincanti Music School, hosted by Simona Mulazzani.

The official programme for the anniversary celebrations culminates on Sunday 18 October at 6.00 pm in Piazza Unità with the cutting of the giant celebratory birthday cake.
