Riccione’s Birthday – art, culture and archaeology

Comune di Riccione

Riccione is celebrating its 104th birthday with a series of events taking place simultaneously in various locations around the town, alongside CiocoPaese, the festival dedicated to artisan chocolate.

In addition to the ‘Sogna Riccione Sogna’ concerts in Piazza Unità (on Saturday 17 October at 4.00 pm, performances by young, up-and-coming local singer-songwriters, and at 9.00 pm by Joe Dibrutto; on Sunday 18 October at 3.30 pm, a concert by the students of Musicantiere), two major exhibitions will open at Villa Franceschi on Sunday 18 October at 11.30 am.

‘Vissi d’arte. Da un sogno, una storia’ is an exhibition marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Centro Arti Figurative, showcasing works by the original group of founding artists.

“Liquida Riccione” is a multimedia and photographic project by students from the Volta-Fellini Art School on the city’s autumnal metamorphosis, followed by an aperitif organised by pupils from the Savioli Hotel Management School.

On Sunday 18 October, the celebrations extend to the Centro della Pesa with the free family workshop “From the Earth to Ceramics” at the Luigi Ghirotti Museum of the Territory (4.00 pm, with archaeologists Lorenzo Bonazzi and Andrea Tirincanti) and a guided tour at 4.30 pm led by students from the Savioli Hotel Management School of the photographic exhibition “Riccione. From the Album of Memories’. The exhibition features around thirty images from the photo archive, dedicated to the town’s iconic places and buildings between 1920 and 1960.

Events may be subject to change, always contact organizers before going to the venue.
