27th Riccione TTV Festival - Toni Servillo between cinema and theatre, a cinematic tale

Comune di Riccione

Thanks to the collaboration with the Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d'Europa and Agenzia Teatri, the 27th Riccione TTV Festival is dedicating a special tribute to one of the greatest artists of Italian cinema and theatre, Toni Servillo. Among the initiatives dedicated to him, Wednesday 25 September (9 pm) at the Cinepalace is scheduled the film "Viva la libertà" by Roberto Andò, presented by the protagonist, Toni Servillo, and featuring the journalist Maurizio di Rienzo.

Enrico Oliveri is a seasoned politician whose decline seems inexorable. All the projections see him losing in the upcoming elections and his party wants to dump him. So he decides to disappear without a trace. Panic spreads among his party comrades. The only one who does not lose heart is the grey eminence Andrea Bottini, who comes up with the idea of replacing the politician with his twin brother, a mad and brilliant philosopher.
Awarded two David di Donatello, two Nastri d'Argento and three Ciak d'Oro, "Viva la libertà" is the film adaptation of the book "Il trono vuoto", a successful debut novel by director Roberto Andò (Campiello Opera Prima Award). An acute reflection on the mechanisms of politics in the new millennium and on the mysteries of life, "Viva la libertà" exalts the extraordinary qualities of Toni Servillo, who impersonates the dual role of Enrico Oliveri and his twin brother, backed by a cast of great performers.
Toni Servillo will introduce the first screening of the film festival in which he plays the leading role. The other films on the programme are "Il Divo" by Paolo Sorrentino, "Ariaferma" by Leonardo Di Costanzo, and "Qui rido io" by Mario Martone (every Wednesday at the Cinepalace from 2 October).

Admission: full price €7, reduced price €5, season ticket €20.
