On 19 October, the Green Pearl will blow out 102 candles in Piazzale Ceccarini amidst music, artistic performances, and tastings of sweets made by schoolchildren and youth associations in Riccione.
In the afternoon, from 3 to 6 pm, the Palazzo del Turismo will host "Sogna Riccione sogna" (Dream Riccione dreams), an afternoon of concerts and live performances.
Music, proposed by the young students of Riccione's Giocamusica and Musicantiere schools and the city's Music Institute, will be the great protagonist, while the students of Riccione's Liceo artistico Fellini high school, coordinated by the cartoonist and illustrator Niccolò Tonelli, will give life to a live painting with the creation of works inspired by the dreams and hopes of the community. Also for Riccione's birthday, the celebratory cake cannot be missed, which, by tradition, will be interpreted and created by the students of the Savioli Hotelier Institute followed and coordinated by their teachers.
At the end of the afternoon, the 'Savioli' students will take the public to Riccione Paese (for those who wish, free of charge on board the little train), to the Municipal Library, where they will present an account of Riccione's history through archive images that tell the city's past.
At 8.30 p.m. at the Palazzo del Turismo, the latest book written by Giuseppe Lo Magro, 'A zonzo per Riccione', historical president of the Famija Arciunesa association, will be presented. Founded with the aim of preserving and enhancing the history of Riccione, the Famija Arciunesa association is a fundamental point of reference for the community.
