27-29 December 2024 sees the return of the PENNABILLI DJANGO FESTIVAL, the 12th edition of the international jazz manouche music festival dedicated to the extraordinary figure of guitarist Django Reinhardt.

Django, a Gypsy genius of Sinti ethnicity (manouche in French), the father of gipsy jazz or swing manouche, was the first to have the idea of combining the chords of jazz with the rhythms of the gypsy tradition, anticipating a polycultural vision of jazz and the very idea of European jazz.

The echo of Manouche Jazz now continues to resound in the Upper Marecchia Valley for the 12th edition of the festival. The enthusiasm and tenacity of the Ultimo Punto Cultural Association is unwavering, and once again this year it brings the rhythms and scents of gypsy music to the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, creating a unique event with important international guests, which arouses expectation and curiosity in the manouche jazz scene.

In the days between Christmas and New Year's Eve, Pennabilli dances to the rhythm of gypsy jazz with evening concerts at the Teatro Vittoria, musical aperitifs at the Orto dei Frutti Dimenticati, and unmissable Jam Sessions that continue late into the night: from the great classics of Django Reinhardt to traditional gypsy melodies, from 1930s jazz standards to compositions by the best known exponents of contemporary manouche.

A number of side activities are also on the programme, such as the group seminars for musicians, an opportunity to learn from great artists in a friendly and engaging atmosphere, and the Gipsy Trails, short excursions to enjoy the sounds of nature and manouche jazz, organised by Chiocciola casa del nomade.
