The Segavecchia festival is one of the oldest and most significant festivals in Romagna.

Legend has it that a woman had committed a sin by eating meat on the Thursday of Lent, and for this she was accused of being the author, with this act, of all the evils of the past agricultural season.
The protagonist of the festival is therefore the old woman, known as Segavecchia, who is set alight with a spectacular bonfire at the end of the festival.

The rich programme for the weekend of 5 and 6 April therefore includes a parade of floats, musical performances, Luna Park, markets, and will culminate with the firework display and bonfire of the 'Vecchia'.
