Thanksgiving Day

Comune di San Leo

Thanksgiving Day is an event of great religious and social importance that has traditionally been held in San Leo on the third Sunday of November since 1980, when the first provincial edition was held with the presence of the Bishop of the
Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro and the provincial leaders of Coldiretti.

The Day is intended to confirm the importance of the primary sector
of agriculture and its irreplaceable role in the development of an increasingly Christian and humane society.

The Day opens at 10 a.m. with a parade of powerful agricultural machinery that, starting from Quattroventi and climbing the only access road, stops to crown the majestic Cathedral, where Holy Mass is celebrated at 11 a.m., presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese.

At the end of the religious service, the farmers individually receive a blessing from the Bishop, in the presence of civil and military authorities including the Mayor of the City of San Leo.

In the afternoon, in Piazza Dante Alighieri, the second part of the day is enlivened until late in the evening by various animations with music, popular songs, old-fashioned games, and a market of agricultural products with mulled wine and roasted chestnuts tasting.

Events may be subject to change, always contact organizers before going to the venue.
