On the weekend of 20 to 22 June 2026, there is an unmissable event combining culture, seafaring tradition and timeless charm. The harbour-canal of the Queen of the Adriatic will host 'Il Nuovo Trionfo', the last remaining sailing lugger in the Adriatic Sea, on the occasion of its momentous centenary (1926-2026).

From Saturday 20 this historic wooden vessel will become the stage for free events, workshops for children, guided tours and scenic readings on board. A unique opportunity for tourists and residents to experience the true history of traditional seafaring.

Saturday 20 June: The Arrival of the Trabaccolo

6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. | Arrival of the boat in the port-canal of Cattolica. Note: The exact time may vary depending on weather conditions.

Sunday 21 June: Lectures, Readings and Visits on Board

10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | Sailing along the coast: a unique spectacle to admire from Cattolica's beach.

6.00 p.m. (at the A.N.M.I. Club) | Cultural meeting: "Storia dei trabaccoli" (History of trabaccoli) by Gilberto Penzo. "Il restauro de Il Nuovo Trionfo" (The restoration of Il Nuovo Trionfo) by Massimo Gin (President of the "Compagnia della marineria tradizionale Il Nuovo Trionfo").

9.00 p.m. (on board the boat) | Scenic readings from "Viaggio intorno al mondo" with the CittàTeatro theatre company. (Booking required)

10 p.m. Guided tours under the stars by the crew. (Booking required)

Monday 22 June: Workshops for Children and Traditional Songs

10 a.m. (on board the boat) | Workshop on knots and sailor's snack: the perfect activity for families with children who want to discover the secrets of sailors. (Reservation required)

18:00 - 19:00 | Afternoon guided tours by the crew. (Reservation compulsory)

9:00 p.m. (on board the boat) | Tale of the launching ritual with singing interludes by the Cultural Association "La Canta".

The boat will bid farewell to Cattolica on the morning of Tuesday 23 June.
