On 11 January 1999 Fabrizio De André left us, not yet 59 years old. In 2024, therefore, 25 years have passed without Faber, without his songs, his poems, his insights, his stories, his collaborations aimed at achieving artistic perfection. One of the most precious was the one with Premiata Forneria Marconi, the most important Italian (and not only Italian) Progressive Rock group. Precisely in 2024, the 45th anniversary of the publication (in 1979) of the live album 'Fabrizio De André in concert Arrangements PFM' will be celebrated.
DAMADORE' is not a simple tribute or cover band, and even less an imitation of the original, but a true artistic tribute that a band of excellent musicians, close-knit and passionate about the greatest Italian singer-songwriter and the most important and well-known Italian progressive rock group, wants to propose to celebrate a concert that for many remains a cornerstone of Italian live music of all time. DAMADORE' is a band accredited to the Fabrizio De André Foundation. The band members are: Andrea Ceré - bass Daniele "Hammond" De Rosa - organ and keyboards Giorgio Nonnato - drums Max Giovanardi - electric and acoustic guitar Pietro Lermini - acoustic guitar, mandolin, keyboards, percussion Sabba Gallotta - vocals and classical and acoustic guitar Tania Righi - violin. DAMADORE' faithfully re-propose the set list of Fabrizio De André's famous concert with PFM in 1978-79, published in the 2 well-known live LPs. Each of the songs has been studied and prepared with great detail on the arrangements and interpretations and is rendered 'strictly live', recreating the sound atmosphere that the combination of the best of songwriting and Italian progressive rock was able to produce. A succession of ballads, poems, solos, rhythms, suites and sounds that conquer, involve and excite and that, thanks to the interpretative skills of singer Sabba Gallotta, emphasise the value of Fabrizio De André's poetry, while celebrating PFM's compositional skills and taste thanks to the reinterpretation that the musicians of DAMADORE' are able to offer. A unique event, a concert never again performed live in its entirety, not even by the protagonists of the time.
