Santarcangelo's will be a "Christmas in the Places of the Soul", in the sign of Tonino Guerra and Pino Boschetti.

It is precisely the "Places of the Soul" film festival, which will take place from 9 to 15 December, that will bring the initiatives of the Christmas calendar to life with a tribute to Tonino Guerra, while the "Christmas Pine", inaugurated in 2022, will return to the Combarbio in memory of Pino Boschetti.

A calendar that moves among the places of the soul dear to Tonino, from the "big square" that hosts the fountain with the pine cone he designed, to the Supercinema with the two theatres dedicated to his friends Michelangelo Antonioni and Wim Wenders. And through the soul of our community, with the elements that bring us back into the Christmas spirit, such as the new lighting project, the nativity scene at the grotto in Piazza Balacchi and the Christmas tree.

On the heels of the great exhibition "Pino Boschetti - Painting in dialect" organised in Rimini in the Palazzo del Fulgor - Fellini Museum, the homage to the naïf painter born and lived in Santarcangelo until his death on 29 October 2022 continues. The work "Pino di Natale" (Christmas Pine) was conceived by the visual artist Eron and dedicated to Boschetti in the wake of his death: the two artists were jointly awarded the Golden Archangel by the municipal administration in 2016.

Designed on the support "E' zòch ad Nadêl" by Manolo Benvenuti, the work is a monumental graphic adaptation of Boschetti's works, transformed into a composition that combines details and iconic characters, symbols of the soul of the community of Santarcangelo and of Romagna, bringing out a poetic made up of everyday details and dreamlike visions. Like the traditional festive log of wood, the 'Christmas Pine' represents a wish for reunion, warmth and hope for the future: a work that continues to narrate Boschetti's artistic and human legacy, celebrating the value of memory and community.

While waiting to inaugurate the 'Christmas Pine' and the mechanical crib set up by the Gualtieri Family in the grotto in Piazza Balacchi on Sunday 8 December starting at 5 p.m., several events are already scheduled to prepare for the festivities, which will kick off tomorrow (Friday 29 November) with the inauguration of the exhibition 'Dario and his landscapes' in the Baldini library.
