Albereto Wood

This wood is one of the most important in the Rimini area. It is situated in the valley of the Marano Stream in the town of Montescudo from which it has taken its name, underlining the importance it held in the past.

It is likely that before the deforestation connected to agricultural activities and the need for wood as fuel, a single continuous woody curtain, interrupted only by outcrops of rocks and the riverbed of the stream, covered the entire valley.
