Good news from the sea for the summer of 2026: the beach season officially kicks off on Saturday 16 May and will end on Sunday 20 September, with a series of confirmations and novelties designed to make the beach even more welcoming, sustainable and attentive to the well-being of those who live there.

 

Among the most significant points of the municipal bathing ordinance 2026 is the extension of the smoking ban, which from this year will no longer concern only the foreshore, but all the concession areas of the bathing establishments, with the possibility for concessionaires to identify special areas dedicated to smokers. Smoking is still forbidden in sports areas and children's playgrounds. A choice that reinforces the path towards a cleaner, tidier and healthier beach.

 

There is also something new for those who enjoy the sea with their dogs: in fact, the morning time slot dedicated to bathing in the sea for animals has been extended, and will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 8.30 a.m., half an hour longer than last season. The evening time slot from 6.40 p.m. to 9 p.m. is also confirmed, again in the equipped establishments and in the specially delimited areas.

 

The standards that have characterised Rimini's bathing offer for years remain confirmed: 15 square metres per beach umbrella both north and south, services available until 10 p.m., access forbidden between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., a stop to disposable plastic cups and straws, and the possibility for restaurants and public establishments to deliver food directly to the beach with compostable or reusable materials.

 

In the period of greatest tourist influx, the lifeguard service will also be strengthened, confirming the constant focus on safety. A freer, more liveable and more sustainable beach: summer 2026 is ready to go.
