ETHICS - The Misano Adriatico Philosophical Review
Comune di Misano Adriatico
Ethics is the new philosophical review in Misano Adriatico curated by Gustavo Cecchini, five appointments with as many excellent thinkers to rediscover a shared ethics, renew the bond that unites us as human beings and heal our wounds.
The event opens on Friday 11 October with Vito Mancuso and a lecture entitled: Ethics for difficult days. Is it still possible to build a shared ethic? Is it still possible to think about the world and guide choices through traditional concepts of philosophy such as good and evil? But above all, if evil is more convenient and pleasant, why should we do good?
The guest of the second event, Friday 18 October, is philosopher Paolo Ercolani with: algoretic the place of man and machine. There has been a much-debated question since at least the middle of the last century. Only today does it finally seem to be clarifying itself, but with contours emerging that give rise to more than one concern: that of an Artificial Intelligence that can equal human intelligence is one of the unrealistic myths that perhaps even the pioneers of this extraordinary technology never believed in.
Marco Guzzi will be the protagonist of the third event, on Friday 25 October, with a lecture entitled: Inhabiting the place of transmutation.
In a time as swirling as ours, it seems impossible to find a place on which to build our lives. Every ethics therefore, every legislation, every shared order seems to be diluted, liquidated, and eventually vanish into the nothingness of an enormous mental chaos. Where to dwell then? Must we learn to inhabit the very vortex of transformation? Learn to inhabit the event of our anthropological trans-figuration? And how will it be possible to do so measurably, that is, without precipitating into a dangerous mental and social disintegration?
On Friday 8 November, philosopher Simone Regazzoni takes the stage at the Astra with : Plato, ethics as self-training. In Greek antiquity, ethics is not a set of rules that the subject must adhere to, but a work that the subject does on himself in order to be as better as possible. Within this framework, Plato proposes an ethics as self-training in the unity of soul and body that speaks to our time.
Closing on Thursday 14 November, with Stefano Zamagni who has chosen a title that "bites" on our time: Peace and war: injustice, the matrix of all wars. Will to power and social injustice have always been the root causes of war. In the current era, therefore, two factors have taken on particular specifics. First, war today is no longer worldwide, but global. Second, the will to power is expressed today in the forms of geopolitics. The conclusion, then, is that if one wants peace, one must build institutions of peace, that is, si vis pacem, para civitatem!
All meetings will be held at the Cinema-Theatre Astra starting at 9 p.m.
