A guided tour of Malatesta art, from Giotto to Ghirlandaio

Comune di Rimini

Alongside ‘The Code of the Passion: Bellini and Mantegna in the Mirror’.

To mark the exhibition ‘The Code of the Passion: Bellini and Mantegna in the Mirror’, the Museums of Rimini are offering guided tours to explore the Rimini Renaissance.

The tour begins in the museum’s Manica Lunga gallery, where Giovanni Bellini’s *Pietà* stands alongside Andrea Mantegna’s *Saint Sebastian*, on loan from the Ca’ d’Oro in Venice. The tour continues by tracing the major commissions that transformed the city: from the 14th-century school, influenced by Giotto and Byzantine culture, to works from the Malatesta era, such as Ghirlandaio’s altarpiece.

A unique opportunity to admire two masterpieces of the European Renaissance up close and to rediscover, through art and places, the extraordinary era of the Malatesta family.
