Sagra Musicale Malatestiana 75th Edition

Comune di Rimini

The Sagra Musicale Malatestiana gets into full swing, with major appointments including symphonic concerts, chamber music, and special projects.
The second part of the festival programme, from October until the end of the year, presents some eagerly awaited debuts in Rimini, starting with Teodor Currentzis, one of the most original performers on the international music scene, together with his orchestra MusicAeterna (13 October) and the musicians of the Leonore Orchestra with the Philharmonischer Chor M?nchen (25 October) on the 200th anniversary of the first performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

In the chamber music programme, the return of the WunderkammerOrchestra conducted by Carlo Tenan is awaited (18 October), while on 13 December two masters of the bow, violinist Giuliano Carmignola and cellist Mario Brunello with the Solisti Aquilani, will arrive at the Teatro Galli. The cycle will close with a recital by the very young pianist Giacomo Menegardi (15 December), the latest winner of the prestigious Venice Prize.

Young people will also be the protagonists in a double appointment at the Teatro Galli on 2 and 3 November with Raffaele Napoli on the podium of the Orchestra Nazionale Pizzico, while the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Suzuki (3 November) will be accompanied by conductor Federico Ferri.

Among the special projects, Nicoletta Magalotti will be the protagonist of a performance that crosses music, word and image (19 October), combining sound suggestions ranging from Schumann's music to Hölderlin's poetry.
