Riccione's 2024/25 theatre season - The Lobster

Comune di Riccione

With a language based on the dialect of Riccione, the show paints the life of an elderly woman, whose solitary existence unfolds before the eyes of the spectator, alternating drama, amusing comic interludes and surreal episodes.
The stage space, carefully designed by Paul Mochrie, transforms everyday objects, and so the refrigerator, the washing machine and other domestic elements take on new meanings, becoming co-protagonists of a narrative that winds between the real and the absurd, with homages to masters such as Samuel Beckett and Raffaello Baldini.
The soundtrack includes iconic pieces from Italian cinema of the 1960s and 1970s and unexpected quotations, such as Carla Boni's 'Acque amare' and Camaleonti's 'Eternità'. Finally, there is the lobster, an element that disrupts the rhythm of the story, adding a giallo film touch to the story.
The evening will open at 7.30 p.m. with "Radiodrammi di Romagna in Tour!", a presentation of the sound archive of theatre in Emilia-Romagna dialect, organised by Città Teatro.

Admission: 10 euro. Direct online purchase: Liveticket.it.
